The Diccionari de gestió ambiental (‘Environmental Management Dictionary’) gathers more than 1,600 terms in Catalan, Spanish, English and French, and is the update of the work that TERMCAT published in 1997, the first that gathered terminology on environmental sciences in Catalan.

The evolution of the last twenty years has made necessary to extension the original work over, that included general terminology related to environmental impact, tools and control measures, and other more specific related to water treatment, atmosphere, natural wealth, radiations or noise and vibrations. The new systems of waste treatment, the climate change, soil remediation techniques or light pollution are some of the examples of the need to publish a new edition, now online.

The dictionary also includes terms from the UNE-EN ISO 14050 Gestió ambiental. Vocabulari and UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 Sistemes de gestió ambiental. Requisits amb guia d’ús standards, translated into Catalan by TERMCAT.

This is a work by TERMCAT with the collaboration of a large group of experts and advisors from the Catalan Government, Catalan universities, research groups and private companies. 

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in three ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), using the thematic access or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
